For those of you who missed the memo, we recently spent a fabulous week in Poland travelling around the northwest in Sopot, Gdańsk and Olsztyn. While we were there we ate some terrific food. Peruse the photos below and be prepared for major food envy.
For regular readers, this Meatless Monday post may look eerily similar to last week’s, and it is. The saving grace – I hope – is that this version was made, and consumed, in my own kitchen!
As part of our Polish adventures, we tasted a few new things and, needless to say, we loved them all! Over the next few days I will post pictures of some if these treats and ask you all to guess what they are.
We’ve just got back from a week in Poland: sunshine, sand, sea and soup. The Polish love their soups. This one in particular, though, is perfect for summer, especially in the 35ºC (95ºF) and 47% humidity we experienced while we were there.
The two main ingredients in this soup may not be obvious bed fellows, but their union was inspired by a single person. One of my closest friends is from Poland and she has opened my husband’s and my eyes to the delights of Polish food. Cabbage soup is one dish which has become a staple in our house, especially at the time of year when we need to shake a few pounds loose.
