Lamb. What a beautiful thing. This ground lamb was originally intended for a rather spartan meal of lamb and lentils I found on Food 52. Needless to say, that was vetoed and instead we made lamb burgers two ways and both the recipe inspirations came from Epicurious.
This Meatless Monday post is an amalgamation of the minted potatoes and fava beans from the first Piacere Farmer’s Market Challenge and a recipe from one of my newer Olive magazines. It’s so simple − it only has four ingredients and takes less than half an hour to make − but surprisingly satisfying and tasty.
I came home last night and didn’t feel like cooking. After much debate, we decided to order pizza to save me from being a slave to the stove and then I promptly went into the kitchen to cook something for our lunches for the next day. I know, the mind boggles.
Some of our close friends had family visiting from Poland last week and, as ever, I looked at that as the opportunity for a dinner party. Dinner parties seem to have this stigma, this pretentious air about them which puts people off. In our house they are simply an excuse to have good friends over, drink lots of wine and, of course, for me to get in the kitchen and cook up a three course meal.
