As part of our Polish adventures, we tasted a few new things and, needless to say, we loved them all! Over the next few days I will post pictures of some if these treats and ask you all to guess what they are.
The first of our culinary delights was the street food pictured at the top of this post. It has three elements, two of which are fairly obvious, and is a very traditional part of Polish cuisine.
It is humble and cheap to make, but done right it can be a very delicious tidbit indeed. It may not be for everyone, but it was definitely for me!
Get guessing!
I’d say rye bread and pickles for the “obvious” ingredients and perhaps lard for the spread? I know Russians and Ukrainians use it alot, so why not the Polish as well?
Good guess! Answer revealed tomorrow!
I’m really not surprised that you’re seeing this! Again, it seems very Russian. I kind of love the way Eastern Europe eats.
Me too. We also managed not to gain weight after a week of eating and drinking there, so it’s no wonder they’re all so slim!
Hmm at first glance looks like cream cheese, maybe a type of butter? Interesting combo!!
